Can pet fish ear is good enough to hear any sounds outside the fish tank?

i am wondering if pet fish can hear any sounds.
because i am trying to use a handbell everytime i gave them food. and as i see they all come together but,are they come because i am calling them using a bell or they just come because they see me there?

Mollies(Balloon,High Fin)
Platies(Marble,Mickey Mouse)
Tetras(Neon,Cardinal,Rummy Nose)
Corydoras(Panda,Julli,Sterbai,Venezuela,Paleatas)

   I don’t know if fish can hear but my fighter fish I just got seems to be more active when I am playing my flute and he swims around more then he normally does.

   When I make a bang in my room or the door closes loudly all my fish dart away so they can definately hear it.
   You could try using a light when you feed them to act like the “clicker” if you think they aren’t hearing the bell properly.

   To test to see if its working try going up to the tank and wait for them all to stop “watching” you and start swimming away again, then ring the bell and see if they come back to the top waiting for the food to be put in.

   I hope it works for you, fish can kind of be trained, my fish always know they are getting food when I turn the bubbles off, and they start swimming around the top waiting for the food
