okay yo could go with this tropical setup, thats fun and creative!
Get a betta fish, male or female. They are fun to looks at and a super beautiful!
Then get some ghost shrimp. They are about 49cents each, and they only grow to an inch long. They are clear, and fun to watch, and they don’t need their own food, they take care of the food your betta let fall, as well as they only have a bit of waste.
Then get an african dwarf frog. They don’t need land, and they are small, but cute. You need to feed them frozen bloodworms though… wich can be a pain, ut they are cool!
Then get a mystery smail, as they are kind of fun, and not that expensive.
Add in a small school ofneon tetras, because they are super colorful and fun to watch as well. Get about five. Then you tank is set up, and ready to go!

For a basic 10 gallon, I always like to go with the standard betta-and-a-school-of-fish. Honey gouramis are also nice. The school of fish can be:
6-8 neon tetras
6-8 harlequin rasboras
6-8 glowlight tetras
4-8 pygmy corys
3-4 panda, aneus, sterbai, bronze/albino cory
If you want to play it close, you can even do 6 of either the tetras or rasboras, and/or 4 pygmy corys, and/or the betta/honey gourami
EDIT: Well your question originally said 10 gallons.
With 20 gallons, your option open up a great deal, so I’m going to recommend some sites for you to check out:

I would recommend a gourami or a betta with 3 cory catfish.

Uh different types look different. Oh your title makes sense. Guppies, that’s one type that looks like
females have shorter fins. Guppies come in different colors. Go to the pet store and you will find fish you really want. if you want more pics then write guppy pictures.

Tropical set up
10 gal – Male guppy, 1 platy, 1 neon tetra, one glolight tetra. Still give the tank room, gives a color accent and can distinguish one from the other
