How can I get good betta fish cheap?

I was looking at a picture of a black orchid halfmoon on the internet and it was really pretty, but the place was in Thailand and it costs about sixty bucks just to ship it. I don’t really want to breed the fish, I just want to look at it. Is there a way I can get one cheaper?

do you want it to be black or just to have cool fins? I saw some Corona betta that look just like this: but in red and blue colors and they cost 30 mexican pesos (like 3 USD) and yeh they are here in Guadalajara, Mexico. I was gonna get one but I got a normal one instead, lucky I did cuz I put it with my cichlid and they fighted while I was not seeing and now my betta looks more like a female betta so good thing it was not a nicer one.

I have owned bettas in the past, but not seen what you have described. But if you would settle for different colors, most pet shops (at least in my area)have many beautiful fish.(even Wal-mart) Why, I don”t know-but they still DO need attention!

I think you should look around the pet shops in your state or give them a call. Here in P.R. I have seen so many kinds it’s difficult for me to make up my mind as to which one to buy. I have never spent more than $5.00, usually $3.00

the cheapest place i’ve found to purchase beta fish is walmart…i doubt they have the special breed you’re looking for but their fish are still attractive.

go to petco they sell for like 3 something…. those are crowned tails they have them for about 5 or seven bucks i think

If you have a local pet store (petco, petsmart, etc.) near were you live, check it out. they should have all kinds of betta there. they are usually priced, (in illinois) females are about $2.15, veil tails(males), about $4.00, and crowntails(males) (NOT “coronas” like in the first comment posted are more expensive, and are about $6.00.
