What dangerous fish do you have to worry about when swimming in south Florida?

Fish
I remember someone saying something about tiger sharks and jelly fish. Nobody ever mentioned the long king fish we found in the water while deep sea fishing. The pelicans were more intimidating than anything though. Would it be probable to rule out an attack from a great white shark in south Florida? What other kinds of dangerous fish do you have to watch out for in place like Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach?

ok i live in south florida all my life so far ok first thing dont pick up shells from the bottom always on the top of the shell, because hermit crabs (though they dont hurt really bad). second crabs, if your in the water when your walking through it if u step on something hard its maybe a crab get away from the hard thing. third jellyfish, if your in the water you will have a 75% chance you will be stung by a jellyfish, if you do get stung bring a bottle of vinegar and rub it on the sting. fourth sharks, the small baby sharks are like 50 yards away so dont get to far out unless you want to be attacked, now the big big ones are out about 130 yards away so watch out. fifth killer whales, ok you probaly are not going to see them but on the news a couple of monthes ago there were killer whale sightings (i know its weird i couldn’t beleive it but it was true). those are the dangers oh also stingrays, ok now thats all the cool thing about the beach is the high tides and the dolphins maybe you could see them i see them all the time good luck. hope this helped

You don’t have to worry about great white sharks…no killer whales either, we do have false killer whales (which are actually a type of dolphin anway) but their like dolphins and they won’t go near you…ummmm, if you’re walkin in the flats just step down really hard so you scare away stingrays, if you’re diving you need to watch out for lion and scorpion fish, they look like rocks and if you put your hand on one accidentaly it’ll go clear through you and they are poisonous. dolphins won’t mess with you at all…as for other kinds of sharks, we do have hammerheads, reef sharks, bull sharks, nurse sharks, mako’s, blue sharks…well a lot more but those are the bad ones, and as long as you’re aware of your surroundings and don’t swim in color changes in the water you should be fine. just try to have fun and don’t worry about it so much…it’s a lot of fun down here and you should just enjoy it.
