Other fishes can be yellowtail and salmon. Also, you can try and use sea urchin, which is really good.

Any sushi-grade fish will do; I like salmon, large shrimp (cooked!), crab (cooked!), scallops, just about anything you’d find on your local sushi place’s pictorial menu, lol.

When my husband and I lived in a place that wasn’t on the coast (no fresh fish for sushi), we made sushi rolls with imitation crab, smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese. Tasty!

My husband uses salmon, shrimp, octopus, squid, crab, and tuna. He also makes california rolls which have no meat in them, only veggies such as avacado and cucumber. Make sure to use the best fish you can. If it’s not sushi grade freeze it for 48 hours before use to kill any bacteria.

I eat sushi a lot because it is my favorite food. My opinion on the fish you use should be salmon, crabstick, yellowtail, white tuna, shrimp, scallop, Eel, and the best of all, Snapper. If the fish isn’t fresh, and it is not shushi grade fish, it won’t really turn out as sushi. Lastly, make sure you have the right type of seaweed and the right type of rice before you start making the sushi. Have fun!!!
