As long as it is for a report.. but if it’s not you sicko..
Personally I think the Siamese fighting fish is one of the best.
They tend to puff out their gills to make them appear larger and look impressive… The normally attack the same sex so they can find out who’s the boss etc..
The fish are very beautiful and should not be put into practise of their fighting style.
I’m not an expert on these things just stuff I’m learning at college myself.. but I hope it’s helped.

it depends what you want.
If you want a “domestic” fish, like something you’d have in your fish tank, then the betta ( Siamese fighting fish ) has a pretty interesting fighting style.
They flare their gills and then start biting at eachother. The performance is quite a beautiful show in my opinion.
Oscars can get pretty aggressive when fighting.
But the one that interests me most, is the Kissing Gourami. And as the name suggests, this fish fights in a style that looks like kissing.

If your thinking of aquarium fishes, the toughest I’ve seen is the Wolf Cichlid. Dovii. They dispatch piranha in a matter of seconds, because a piranha bites for food, the Dovii kills for territory,most fish that they meet are mortally wounded before they know they’re in a fight.

alll these fish…would lose….except maybe the dovi….to a piranha….the piranha have RAZOR teeth,,,,and they have a crazy fighting style..i would say either the E-Long piranha….or the black rhom….but if u can do like a school fish use the red belly piranhas…they will win ANY fight

PeeTee is on the money; parachromis dovii. These fish claim territory outside of the tank, and will take care of any fish in their territory in seconds. There is a reason fish such as these are referred to as glassbangers, they don’t want YOU in their outside the tank territory.
P’s are wimps unless in a larger group, and are not territorial unless actively spawning. Betta’s don’t even come close to the aggressive nature of many new world cichlids.
