Shrimp, canned light tuna, pollock, catfish, salmon. Never eat anything raw, cook to internal temp 145 degrees and make sure to order well done in restaurants. If your worried about getting enough omega-3 you can take a supplement. They have one called Expecta LIPIL DHA supplement and its for pregnant women.

You'd probably get better piece of mind by asking your doctor this question. Generally most doctors and experts recommend restricting your intake of fish to no more than one or two servings per week. Larger ocean fish tend to have a longer period of time to accumulate murcury and other heavy metals so you need to restrict your intake of these kinds of fish. Freshwater fish caught in local waters need to be restricted due to pollution. If you can get farm raised fish you may be better off because they are more likely to be raised in water with no or minimal pollution.

You can eat most types of fish when you're pregnant. But there are a few types you should avoid and some others where you should limit the amount you eat.

Avoid eating any shark, swordfish and marlin. Limit the amount of tuna you eat to no more than two tuna steaks a week (weighing about 140g cooked or 170g raw) or four medium-size cans of tuna a week (with a drained weight of about 140g per can). This is because of the levels of mercury in these fish. At high levels, mercury can harm a baby's developing nervous system.

Have no more than two portions of oily fish a week. Oily fish includes fresh tuna (not canned tuna, which does not count as oily fish), mackerel, sardines and trout.

But remember that eating fish is good for your health and the development of your baby, so you should still aim to eat at least two portions of fish a week, including one portion of oily fish

good question. like u said STAY AWAY FROM RAW FISH.

Now, as for other fish, also stay away from ones that tend to accumulate lead and other heavy metals in their bloodstream due to humans polluting the seas. such as tuna, yes tuna......dont eat it, no matter how cheap it is and widely available.....stay away from salmon as well, unless wild and u know the natural source it comes from....

basically, u can eat fish such as mackerel....delicious.......eat cod....eat loads of fish, high in protein......i gotta run for class now...

simple rules...

the larger the fish/the higher up in the chain the fish is, the more mercury they consume. this is a no no.

fish is good, as it contains things like omega 3.

from what i remember things like makeral and sardines are good (oily fish)

but check with the pregnancy websites or with ur dr or midwife for specific foods that are good
