What kind of fish are usually stocked in small private ponds?

Fish

The golf courses at my country club close on Mondays, so I was going to sneak out there and fish in some of the lakes they have on the courses.

I KNOW they have those small fish (I think carp or bluegill, not sure), but I’m not sure what bigger fish they have.

I think that, if there are big fish, they could actually be big.

Here are my main questions:

What kind of fish do you think would be stocked in there?

How likely is it for me to catch ANY fish?

What kind of lures should I use?

Please add any advice or information!
I’ve already gotten permission from my Country Club.
Southeast. Atlanta to be specific.

My club is Cherokee Town & Country Club.

Bluegill, Carp, and maybe some bass. Might be some catfish too. Usually Carp and Bluegill stay close to the top of the water, but it’s best to use a hook that sinks. Use bread too, they eat that stuff up. and When remove the bluegill’s hook, hold it upside down so it doesn’t cut you with it’s fins.

i wouldn’t advise doing what you have planned,if you get caught you would be considered a trespasser end up in jail and lose all your fishing stuff

Do you live in the north where there is ice on the lakes for more than two months? If so you will most likely find only small fish as the larger ones will die of low oxygen levels first.

If you live in the south, I wouldn’t be suprised to find some decent sized Bass or panfish in them, but there is likely not a population of Northern or larger game fish.

Start with live bait, nightcrawlwer, under a bobber. That will tell you immediately if there are panfish in the area, plus a bass or bullhead will like that presentation too. If you catch a Bass, experiment with some topwater, or a slow, shallow diver. If it is weedy, cast right on the edge and you should get results.

They stock bluegills and bass in the ponds most of the time! They are doing weed control differently now and have been staying away from carp around here they found some of the small ponds muddy so bad because of the carp.
I fish them and yes u can get some big fish from them but dont keepem all!A small pond can be over fished by one person real fast!

Bass bluegill and probably grass carp, The carp will get big they have them here in Fl for weed control , I have been catching some 3 feet long on plain bread

    For bluegill use a nightcrawler

for Bass i would try a plastic worm .

Its likely you will catch some fish

Additional advice … get permission , dont trespass

    and
Dont keep or eat the fish there Golf Courses use lots of pesticides and fertilizers on their greens and grass which runoff into those lakes and the fish absorb those toxins
