Just about every fish needs some attention, Gold fish seem to do best in the environment you describe. They are cool water fish but they do need a filter and circulation. You could provide a companion or two and an automatic feeder. There are many varieties to choose from, from koi (takes a large tank) to ordinary comets.

if you have space try some cichlids...there very hardy and fun to watch. check out a convict or a jack dempsey. some people like oscars they can get relatively large. african cichlids are awesome but require a little more attention. beta's dont have much personality to me....good filtration system is the key....

I don't think there are any fish that can be fed only twice a week. All tropical freshwater fish require a heater (except coldwater fish) and a filter. Weekly water changes of at least 25% are recommended as well. If you don't have the time to feed them and clean the tank, then you shouldn't get fish, or you could make time.

You can buy an automatic feeder that will feed 1-3 times a day and you never have to worry about that. You will still need to test water quality and clean the tank every 2-4 weeks. The type of fish doesn't matter as much.

Bettas are very pretty and are generally low maintenance and are easy to come by. However, any fish will need to be fed more than twice a week, and bettas require a minimum tank size of 1 gallon. I used to have a white cloud minnow and they are super hardy, they can live in cold and warm (not too cold/warm!), they don't require soo much food, (minimum of 3-4 times a week), and they can be kept in small tanks/bowls. They prefer to be in shoals but one of mine died and i only had one left. They live quite long (2-3 years)

I fully agree with the response above me. You don't have enough time to spend with them? Why would you get them. Even bettas need care and regular feedings and a clean tank for a healthy life.Forget about fish until you can give them the proper attention.

<a href="http://webhosting-site.org">Web Hosting</a>

there are plenty of nicely crafted figurines of fish available if you search for them. try putting a few small glass ones in a nicely decorated tank if it's the look you're after. just please don't subject any fish, or other creature - even a house plant, to the neglect you're proposing. ask yourself if you would treat your dog that way. if you honestly do, please put it up for adoption.
