What kinds of fish should I add to my aquarium?

I have a 20 gallon tank that has 2 tiger barbs, 1 platy, and 1 pleco (used to have 2 plays but one died). These fish were added to get the tank set up, and I’m now ready to add more. What other fish should I add to the tank? I want to get about 3 more tiger barbs, but not sure what other fish to get.

You can get Mollies, more platy’s, swordtails, guppies, dannios, tetras. I believe these will all live together. Just remember the tetras and guppies have to be in a group of at least 4 and you definitly want to get 3 more tiger barbs or else they will start attacking the other fish.

My favourite are mollies and you can get some nice colours.

get 5 more tiger barbs and ID your pleco (only a certain number of the 700 odd species will fit in a 20 gallon tank).

with the tiger barbs and the pleco, that’s pretty much your tank full.

the tiger barbs will dominate the mid-top section of the tank and anything that gets in their way at feeding time will get nipped to pieces.

the pleco’s bioload will but strain on the filter, they pretty much constantly poop.

  4. Get at least 4 more tiger barbs instead of 3 they do best in schools of 6 or more. What type of pleco? Very few are suitable for your tank, if it is a common, sold in most petstores, they get to 18″+ so you need to rehome it. Otherwise I would just recommed adding another platy or 2 and you are pretty much full. Tiger barbs get about 3″ so 6 of them pretty much fill up your tank on there own.

I suggest adding 3 mollies, 1 more tiger barb, 3 black tetras, 2 sunset gouramis.
