Nothing tropical saltwater, thats for sure!
Tetra, Gold Fish,Beta.
Go into Petsmart or Petco and explain to them how much cash you have. They are trained to find something for your budget, and your tank requirements.

Get a breeding net for your guppies.
If you can save some of the fry they will multiply to fill a 50gal tank in no time

Probably bala sharks, as they’re the most common ‘sharks’
I would go with a school of Harlequin Rasboras (sually $1-$2 each), and some Corydoras catfish ($1.50-$3 depending on species); the albino Corydoras aeneus are usually sold cheaply, and I find them very beautiful, and they’re active.
If your filter isn’t over-powerful, you can add some Apple Snails for cleanup (also sold as Mystery Snails and Golden Inca Snails, usually $2-$3 each). Some filters can catch and trap snails, though, so be careful. My 50 gallon filter and my powerhead have killed many a snail.
Remember to stock slowly, and monitor your water parameters closely, especially ammonia, after adding fish. Consider buying some live plant packages – you can usually find assorted bulb packages that produce lovely aponogetons. Live plants also help stop algae growth by competing for food and light.

A Plecostomus would be great, they’re very beautiful and can grow to be about a foot in length. They are algae eaters, so all you need are algae pellets (they can’t and shouldn’t live off algae in the tank) Also, ghost shrimp are a lot of fun, they’re cute and it’s great watching them scurry around the tank. You don’t need to feed them, they eat leftover food from the fish. Both the pleco and shrimp are very peaceful, and get along with any type of fish.
